Chapter History:

The Nebraksa Sandhills Chapter was founded in December of 1999 by Angela Payne.

The motivation for the starting of this chapter was the closest NAVHDA Chapter was over 5 hours from this area. The chapter had a very slow start with only 5 dogs taking part of our first test.

Our second test grew in dogs but still not enough to hold more then a 2 day test. We now hold 3 day tests in the Spring and Fall of each year and are always filled to the max. We also offer a 3 day training weekend each August for any NAVHDA member interested.

We host our tests at the Ivan Schneidereit Ranch near  Brewster, NE.

The chapter has the use of two beautiful 7 bedroom ranch homes and several areas of plush ranch land for our field work as well as some of the best duck search water found.

The chapter contiunes to grow each year and fast becoming a favorite in test areas for other NAVHDA handlers.

Junior Member Club:

In the Spring of 2003 our Sr. members adopted the idea to start a Jr. Club for the members children. This club is open to all children ages 8-16. The purpose of the Jr Club is to  promote safety and good hunting ethics in our children.

The kids are normally on test days are incharge of helping the Judges, the noon BBQ for Saturday lunch and they sell cookies and drinks each afternoon to make money for the summer fun weekend.

The Jr's vote each year for a sponsor to help them with the tasks of this club.

So if your planning to come in to test, bring the kids along, the Jr's will be more then happy to involve your child with their days activities.

What is offered to the Jr. Members:
